The main attraction of the square is the Independence Monument, which is located in its center and is the stele, a height of 28 meters, crowned with the sculpture "Golden man". Stella was erected on the initiative of President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev in 1995, and at the foot of this monument is the bronze book of wish fulfillment.
