Taiwan: Emerald Island of the East As one of Asia’s original powerhouses at the forefront of technology and innovation, this self-contained island has an incredibly diverse range of landscapes and wildlife making it a fascinating travel destination. Start in the north of the island we travel to Taichung, home of one of the largest collections of Taiwanese fine art and one of Taiwan’s oldest mosques. We then proceed to Kaohsiung City famed for its bustling markets before moving on to Kenting National Park at the extreme southern tip of the island. This is the first of a number of unique natural environments that are visited along the breathtaking eastern coastline where we pass the beautiful beaches of Sanxiantai and cliffs of Qingshui. We end our road trip in Taipei, one of East Asia’s most vibrant cities, and are treated to stunning views form the observation deck of the Taipei 101 Tower. Throughout the tour we visit mosques and Islamic centres and learn more about this growing Muslim community. 3
